Are You Wearing The Right Bra?

When it comes to bras, we should keep a few important things in mind:
  • The right fit
  • Underwire
  • Material
  • 24/7 wear
With that said, if your bra is too tight, it cuts off lymph drainage, which could (long term) cause breast cancer, as your body is less able to excrete toxins. So tight bra (or even tight fitted clothing) will impede lymph flow. Sports bras are good, however, even sports bras can sometime be too tight.

Next, the underwire --- typically made out of metal, which could again harm your health (remember EMF). Also, there are two important reflex (acupuncture) points under our breasts corresponding with functioning of our liver/gallbladder (right) and the stomach (left). So, what happens when you constantly "pushing" on these reflex points, you are essentially overstimulating these organs. So if you must have that additional support (underwire), please make sure you replace the metal wire with a plastic one (found in any fabric store).

Also, the material of your bra should be organic cotton. And lastly, do not wear your bra 24/7, or even 12hrs/day. I know some women even like to sleep in their bras (bad idea!). I understand, we need to have some sort of support when we are out and about, however, "ditch" the bra, when you are at home, ditch the bra :-)

Beets & Inflammation

If you follow the latest health and wellness trends, blogs and postings, you have heard of beets and their health benefits including the fact that beets are nutritionally dense, loaded with phytonutrients, vitamin C, B vitamin folate, manganese, potassium and fiber.

But did you know that beets can also fight inflammation? When we talk about thermography, we often hear the word inflammation as thermography has the ability to detect inflammation throughout the body. Beets  contain betaine, a nutrient that helps protects cells from environmental stress. It’s also known to help fight inflammation and it may help prevent many chronic diseases.

Eating beets raw are your best bet. Do you juice? Why don't you add some beets? You can also grate raw beets over your fresh superfood salad.
